Family House provides a special “home away from home” for patients and families who travel to Pittsburgh for medical care. Operating three homes in the Shadyside and Oakland neighborhoods, Family House offers convenient, affordable housing in a home-like environment to more than 22,000 patients and caregivers each year.
UPMC has been a longstanding partner of Family House since its inception in 1983. This page includes information that you can share with your patients about all of the services available to them at Family House’s three locations.
Looking to support the families we serve? Consider organizing a donation drive for our food pantry; we keep our shelves stocked so that patients and caregivers don’t have to worry about the added expense of dining out while they are in Pittsburgh for medical care.
