House Volunteers

“When a friend and long time volunteer asked me to come and visit Family House three years ago I immediately fell in love with this “home away from home”, and became involved. As a volunteer one cannot find a more genuine and comforting atmosphere in which to work. Performing routine tasks, a smile of love and support, sharing laughter and tears, all help to ease the burden of families coping with serious illness. When I leave my shift at Shadyside House I feel truly privileged to be part of this organization whose hospitality and caring support becomes such an integral part of each guest’s life.”

- One year minimum service commitment
