Parking
Although parking at Family House locations is limited, UPMC operates several convenient garages. Family House guests can obtain discount parking stickers from the manager for the UPMC garages.

Directions to Family House
Family House McKee, Family House Neville, and Family House Shadyside are all located in close proximity to the medical centers in the Oakland and Shadyside neighborhoods of Pittsburgh. UPMC and West Penn Hospital provide complimentary shuttle service to all three Family Houses.

Directions to all Family House locations from the South, East and West are provided below, along with parking information for each location.

Directions from South

To Family House Neville, 514 N. Neville Avenue:
From points South (West Virginia) Via I-79 North: Take I-79 North to Exit 59A, I-279 North. Continue on I-279 and get in the right lane before you pass through the Fort Pitt Tunnel. As you exit the tunnel, take the exit ramp for Interstate 376 East (Monroeville). Follow 376 to Exit 2A (Forbes/Oakland Exit). Continue on Forbes Avenue, go through six stoplights until you reach Bellefield Avenue (past the Cathedral of Learning, be in one of the two left lanes). Turn left onto Bellefield. Follow one block, make a right at stoplight onto Fifth Avenue. Follow Fifth through two stoplights, at third stoplight, make a left onto North Neville Street. Family House Neville (located at 514) is just past the Oakland Catholic High School on the left side of the street. Parking is in the back for guests.

To Family House Shadyside, 5245 Centre Avenue:
From points South (West Virginia) Via I-79 North: Take I-79 North to Exit 59A, I-279 North. Continue on I-279 and get in the right lane before you pass through the Fort Pitt Tunnel. As you exit the tunnel, take the exit ramp for Interstate 376 East (Monroeville). Follow 376 to Exit 2A (Forbes/Oakland Exit). Follow straight on Forbes Avenue (one-way street), go through nine stoplights passing the Cathedral of Learning and Carnegie Museum. Continue onto Carnegie Mellon University Campus. Turn left onto Morewood and stay on Morewood until you intersect Centre Avenue. Make a right onto Centre Avenue and follow to Family House Shadyside. Located at 5245, it is just past the new Hillman Cancer Center on your left directly across from the entrance to Shadyside Hospital. Parking is located in the back of the house.

To Family House McKee, 233 McKee Place:
From points South (West Virginia) Via I-79 North: Take I-79 North to Exit 59A, I-279 North. Continue on I-279 and get in the right lane before you pass through the Fort Pitt Tunnel. As you exit the tunnel, take the exit ramp for Interstate 376 East (Monroeville). Follow 376 to Exit 2A (Forbes/Oakland Exit). Follow straight on Forbes Avenue (one-way street), until you see CVS Pharmacy and then Wyndham Garden Hotel on your right. Turn right onto McKee Place. Family House is just past the Exxon Gas Station on the left hand side. Parking is available for our guests behind the house. To Family House Neville, 514 N. Neville Avenue:
From points East (Philadelphia, Harrisburg) Via the Pennsylvania Turnpike: From the Pennsylvania Turnpike, take Exit 57 (Pittsburgh/Monroeville Exit). Continue on I-376 West for approximately 13 miles, take Exit 3B (Oakland/Bates Street Exit). Go through the first stop light. Make a left onto the second street (McKee Place). Follow one block until you reach the Wyndham Garden Hotel and Exxon Gas Station, make a right onto Forbes Avenue (one-way street). Follow Forbes Avenue, go through five stoplights, until you reach Bellefield Avenue (past the Cathedral of Learning, be in one of the two left lanes). Turn left onto Bellefield.
