Family Assistance Program
In 1986, Family House established the Family Assistance Program to reduce the financial burdens impacting some of our guests. Most of the families receiving Family Assistance funds represent trauma and transplant patients who require long-term stays.
Family House is working to expand the Family Assistance Program to provide clothing and nutritional, vision, dental and financial assistance to qualifying families. These additional services would create a more comprehensive program, offering multi-faceted support for the families who so desperately need it.
Family House supplies basic food staples such as soup, canned vegetables, macaroni and cheese, cereal, peanut butter and crackers, and volunteer groups often donate food and make meals for our guests, but some families still cannot afford to purchase enough food. We would like to be able to offer grocery gift cards for the Family Assistance families.
A donation of just $50 provides one night of housing for a family who might otherwise have nowhere else to stay.
